In this article, I will show you how Valentus started, the products that they offer, the compensation plan and bonuses, the secrets that I’ve discovered, and, finally, see if Valentus is a scam or a legit MLM business.

In a world where everyone wants to look as fabulous as a celebrity, it can be easy to persuade people to purchase weight loss products. A lot of companies in the health and wellness niche typically have one product that answers to this kind of need.

Valentus, on the other hand, focuses its products on weight management! Their globally renowned product, the Valentus SlimRoast Coffee, they were able to build their business from just a couple of business-minded people to millions of affiliates around the world.

With this kind of achievement, why is it that this company is not yet number 1 when it comes to a multi-level marketing standard? First, it’s because of the Valentus lawsuit, and second, it’s because of their affiliates.

History of Valentus – Becoming a CEO

Dave Jordan is the founder and CEO of Valentus. He started his MLM career in different companies as an affiliate such as Melaleuca, LiveSmart, and Waiora. He used to be the top representative of Melaleuca until he was kicked out for some apparent reason.

After bouncing from other MLM companies, he decided to create Valentus along with industry leaders.

“Valentus” meaning “prevail” in Latin explains the overall goal of this company. As per their definition, they provide superior influence, strength, and power in the industry that they are in.

The company did a soft-launch last September 2014 and officially opened the business just after 2 months. Its current operations are located in Sparks, Nevada, and have hundreds of thousands of affiliates all over the world.

Intriguing Facts about Dave Jordan

During the prime of Valentus, there were reports that the company’s representatives/affiliates had troubles in the way Dave handles the business. Some of these reports include:

  • Changing and moving the downlines without permission

  • Taking over downlines

  • Taking over commissions

A big leader of this company, Korey Johnson, also decided to quit and launch his own company called Cellis Now with almost the same product lines.

Not so great a reputation for Dave, if you ask me. This is one of the reasons why I don’t recommend this MLM company to you.

Valentus Products

Valentus is better known for its powdered mix products and highly effective in terms of weight management.

When the company started, they only had 4 products to offer: energy drink, immune system enhancer, weight loss drink, and weight loss coffee. In 2018, they launched more products in order to answer the demands of their customers. Here are just some of the Valentus products:

Prevail Energy

Prevail energy a product of Valentus.

Packed with Steviol Glycosides, Natural Caffeine from Coffee Bean Powder, and other ingredients, this powdered mix should work within minutes just after drinking it and would last for hours.

Prevail Immune

Immune Boost product of Valentus.

The ingredients of this product include inulin dietary fiber, Panax ginseng powder, Potassium citrate, Ganoderma Lucidum powder, and other ingredients that support the immune system and are packed with antioxidants.

Prevail Trim

Prevail Trim a product of Valentus.

Packed with Garcinia Cambogia (with HCA), Xylitol, Stevia (leaf), and other ingredients that help you suppress your hunger for your weight management program.

SlimRoast

SlimRoast product of Valentus.

This has 4 different products: Optimum, Optimum Cocoa, Italian, and Brazilian. Ingredients of these products include L-Carnitine Fumarate, Garcinia Cambogia, Cassiolamine Extract, and more.

Prevail Max

Prevail Max product of Valentus.

This helps you control your appetite, regulates fat absorption, elevates mood, and regulates sugar absorption to help you with your weight management.

As I’ve mentioned above, most of the products of Valentus focus on weight management. So if you’re just doing your research to look for a product to help you lose weight, then maybe Valentus is right for you.

In the beginning, almost all of the users of the Valentus coffee are very much satisfied with the product. In fact, the company was able to grow and succeed because of this product alone. Here are some of the reviews you’ll find in trustpilot.com:

Sounds interesting, right? But as I said a little while ago, this was just in the beginning. After a few years of producing such amazing products, Dave Jordan had a financial argument with the company’s formulator in which they had to change the formula of their products.

Now, a lot of people are disappointed with how the new formula turned out.

You’ll find more of the reviews on bbb.org.

Valentus Compensation Plan

Just like any other MLM companies, Valentus has a rather complicated compensation plan which is why I’m just going to do a quick run-through with their plan.

To start off, in order for you to get the most of the company, you need to make sure that you go up the ranks. What does this mean? It means that you have to go over and beyond their minimum requirements per rank.

To become a distributor, you have to purchase at least one of their product packages along with a one-time mandatory $20 distributor sign-up fee. Here are the packages below:

Valentus compensation plan.

Note: BV means Business Volume. You have to maintain this in order to retain your position and surpass it if you want to rank up.

There are 7 ways for you to earn from Valentus:

  1. Retail Commission

You get a 25% commission from all the orders that came through your website link.

  1. Fast Start (First Order Bonus) – Paid Weekly

If your first order is the Basic, Starter, or Advanced, then you get the bonus that’s shown above.

  1. Legacy-Coded Qualification Bonus

  2. Dual Team Cycle Commissions

  3. SEVEN Levels of Dual Team Matching Bonuses

  4. Enrollment Pool Bonus

  5. Vehicle Bonus

To check the entire Valentus compensation plan, you can visit their page here or watch the video below.

If you’re thinking that you’ve understood Valentus enough, you better think again.

By doing some research, I found out that Valentus actually has a lawsuit and is restricted from being sold in some countries. I’ll talk about this more in the next section.

Valentus Lawsuit

Because of the ingredients included in the famous Valentus coffee drink, they have been banned to be sold in many countries like New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Australia, United States, and Europe. Other countries like the Philippines and Malaysia are also planning to ban Valentus as well.

In a routine drug test in New Zealand, a woman was tested positive for Phenethylamine (PEA) and dimethylamylamine (DMAA).

PEA causes a short rush of dopamine which gives its consumer a sense of wellbeing and stimulation. Whereas, DMAA is a stimulant that is a common active ingredient in party pills and is known to be banned in New Zealand.

In October 2019, MEDSAFE (New Zealand Medicines and Medical Devices Safety Authority) issued a warning that the Valentus SlimROAST Optimum Dark Roast Coffee should not be consumed. (To see the whole article, go here).

Also, this was reported in 1 News all throughout New Zealand stating that supplying a Class C drug can carry a maximum of eight years in prison.

Reviews, Complaints, and Rating

Since I’ve tackled some of the reviews and complaints in the “product” section, I’ll just go over some websites that have rated Valentus.

The trustpilot.com has given Valentus 3 stars because of the average “stars” of their reviewers. 43% gave an “excellent” to the company while 45% gave “bad”.

Valentus is not accredited in BBB.org and is only given B+ for their ability to get back to customer complaints.

If you check out the link provided in BBB.org, you may notice that the customer service of Valentus responded to the complaints. In my own opinion, the customer service of Valentus needs to be replaced by someone who is more professional in terms of talking to their customers.

Legit or Scam?

In terms of product availability and compensation packages, Valentus is a legit company.

But if you’ve read the complaints and lawsuits, then I really don’t recommend anyone to either purchase their product or even become an affiliate since they are banned in most of the countries.

What I Recommend

Looking for an income opportunity in Valentus can and will be tough for anyone who wants to start in MLM. Not only will you have to sell their “new formula” coffee, but you also have to think about the countries that have banned the selling and consumption of their products.

Wealthy Affiliate can be a great start for anybody who wants to start earning online. Unlike Valentus, in Wealthy Affiliate:

  • No start-up cost

  • No recruitment required

  • No hard-selling

  • Great community

  • Step-by-step training guides

  2. What an interesting review on this platform. I didn’t know much about it before now but seeing your review had really given me an edge because I was introduced to this platform by a friend who said I would be able to make a lot of money.

I’m happy I decided to read your review first before joining. Before this, I had already tried a number of MLM platforms that didn’t work out well for me and now there is this one. I shouldn’t want to try it at all. I’ll pass.

  3. Hi there, what a nice review of Valentus.  I am glad I stumbled into your article.  A friend highly recommended them to me and told me I will be making a lot of money.  I was very skeptical and now I can see why.  You mentioned something about Wealthy Affiliate to make money online.  Is this an MLM?  Do I have to sell any products?
